This is some sad news from the NBA media world.  Thursday night Craig Sager’s son tweeted that his father would be undergoing leukemia treatment for the next 3-4 weeks and would be away from the sidelines.  The news comes just as the NBA postseason is set to begin.

Sager has been a longtime sideline reporter for Turner Sports for well over 20 years, most of them as the network’s top reporter.  Of course, he’s well known for his colorful suits that he wears on the sidelines.

Turner Sports has yet to respond to a request for a comment on the matter.  However, Tracy Wolfson is listed as the sideline reporter for games called by Marv Albert and Steve Kerr, filling Sager’s spot.

We wish Sager all the best and hope he returns to the sidelines soon.
