Kacie McDonnell, the girlfriend of Aaron Murray, the Kansas City Chief’s 2014 fifth round draft pick, announced she was leaving her job at Fox Philly to move to KC. The reason for the move, of course, is to be closer to Murray, the former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback who will be Alex Smith’s backup, presumably.

McDonnell, who will be joining the local NBC affiliate, 41 Action News, gave quite the emotional goodbye on Friday morning.

With the way she’s thanking everyone, you’d think the girl just won a daytime Emmy. On the one hand, this is seems like a great personal and career move to a new city where your significant other just happens to be an NFL quarterback. On the other hand, leaving a job and city you love is always tough… but on the third hand, long distance relationships suck.
