NBCSN is introducing two new NHL programs for the 2013-14 hockey season. Shortly after the network decided to cancel Michelle Beadle's show The Crossover, they've announced the creation of two weekly shows: NHL Rivals and NHL Top 10.

The first program, NHL Rivals, will air every week and will dive into some of the greatest rivalries in the world of hockey. The premiere episode on October 9th will discuss the historic rivalry between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues as told by current players, former players, writers and broadcasters.

The second program, NHL Top 10, will air immediately after NHL Rivals and will (not surprisingly) feature various Top 10 lists, from best American hockey players to toughest places to play in the NHL.

Beginning on October 9th, NHL Rivals is scheduled to air every Tuesday at 10:30pm ET. NHL Top 10 will air immediately after NHL Rivals at 11:00pm ET.

It's clear NBCSN is trying to build off of their NHL successes from last season. Is this the right way to do it? Hockey has thrived on the network and it makes perfect sense to add a bit of additional new NHL content on the station. Slowly but surely, NBCSN is becoming the destination for hockey fans.
