In another push to bring more live content to its cable sports network, NBC will produce an on-site pregame show for Notre Dame football games this fall to air predominantly on NBCSN.

Today NBC will announce plans for a pregame show originating from Notre Dame Stadium prior to the broadcast of every Fighting Irish home game this year.  The versatile Liam McHugh will serve as host and be joined by analysts Doug Flutie and Hines Ward.  The first pregame show will air August 31st at 3 PM ET on NBC before the opening game against Temple at 3:30 PM ET.  For each following game, including the Shamrock Series game in Dallas vs Arizona State (an NBC telecast since it's technically a home game for Notre Dame), the pregame show will air on NBCSN.

NBC will also produce a postgame show for NBCSN after 3 select Notre Dame football games – the season opener vs Temple on August 31st, Oklahoma on September 21st, and BYU on November 23rd.

The late afternoon window for an NBCSN pregame show further adds to a lineup that has been bolstered this fall by the addition of the English Premier League.  With networks adding more shoulder programming around top level content, expanding the Notre Dame brand to NBCSN only makes sense.  Last week NBC Sports programming chief Jon Miller told Awful Announcing that NBC has the option to bring Notre Dame games to NBCSN, although it wouldn't happen this season.  With the new NBCSN pregame show, Fighting Irish games moving to the cable channel may not be too far behind.
