For whatever reason, first pitches have seen an explosion in innovation this year. Creativity has to flow somewhere I suppose. While this video doesn't feature robotics or convoluted twisting of the human body, Golf Channel's Holly Sonders "chipped" her first pitch at the Rays game last night.
I just have one minor problem though, you don't actually see the ball land in the mit! Sonders was a Big Ten champion at Michigan State, so we'll just have to take the limited pictures as evidence she was able to come closer to the target than Carly Rae Jepsen.
