One of the more under-the-radar projects at the recently-launched Fox Sports 1 has been Fox Sports 1 on 1. The show has given both some of Fox's more talented interviewers (Chris Myers, Curt Menefee) and a few of their analysts (Michael Strahan, John Lynch) to conduct sitdowns with sports newsmakers. So far, the subjects have been limited to football and baseball.

Fox's first longform sitdown with a basketball personality will not disappoint. Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 1 on 1 will profile NBA legend and TNT analyst Charles Barkley. In an interview with Myers, he sounds off on Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, David Stern, and perhaps his favorite subject… what people think of him:

"I think after my third year [in the NBA], I said, 'oh I can't please everybody. I'm just going to please me. I'm going to say what I think and what I feel. And I'm not going to worry about the negativity.' After that third year, I've been the same since. I'm going to give my honest, fair, balanced opinion – some people are going to like it and others wont."

No doubt, Chuck will be one of the top guests on the show for sometimes. It's a little bit interesting that he's appearing on it, however, given that Fox and Turner will likely be (and may already be) in the conversation for NBA rights. Will there be a situation in a few years where Chris Myers talking to Charles Barkley is just two fellow employees having a chat? That's for another day, but certainly any interview with Sir Charles is worth sitting through.
