Fox Soccer may be counting down its final days before it becomes an entertainment channel but the spirit of the network will live on at the new Fox Sports 1. In taking a page from ESPN's book, FS1 will also be launching a daily soccer studio show – Fox Soccer Daily. ESPNFC will air at 5:30 ET on ESPN2 each weekday while FS1's daily soccer show will air at 4 ET beginning August 19th.

Continuing its long tradition of offering the best in world soccer to US fans, FOX Sports introduces FOX SOCCER DAILY, a live soccer news, highlights and analysis program airing weekdays on FOX Sports 1 beginning Monday, Aug. 19 at 4:00 PM ET. FOX SOCCER DAILY originates from the FOX Network Center in Los Angeles.
“We are excited to create a daily destination for US Soccer fans to coincide with the launch of FOX Sports 1 next month,” said FOX Soccer Daily Executive Producer Jonty Whitehead. “Given our overall programming commitment to international soccer and global reach, we believe FOX SOCCER DAILY will provide crucial insight, analysis and coverage of the beautiful game that all fans of the sport crave.”
A season-long program, FOX SOCCER DAILY covers the major soccer leagues and competitions across the globe with an emphasis on Europe and North America. The fast-paced, half-hour program airs Monday to Friday (4:00 – 4:30 PM ET) on FOX Sports 1, America’s new sports network launching Aug. 17, except when preempted by UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League pre-game and post-game shows.
I would imagine you'll see the current Fox Soccer crew of Rob Stone, Warren Barton, Eric Wynalda and Brian McBride to be the core of Fox Soccer Daily with some other contributors here and there from the Fox Soccer family. Fox Soccer's studio offerings were about as riveting as local access television a few years ago, but since adding established people like Stone and McBride and offering a legitimate production it's one of the most improved properties on television. Keep in mind FS1 will also have the resources of News Corp. behind it including Sky in England which covers the EPL. Now with both ESPN and FS1 launching twin soccer studio shows, we'll have a direct comparison point early on between the two networks.
