Fox Sports Live panelist Ephraim Salaam will team with former Houston Texans teammate Chester Pitts on the upcoming season of CBS's The Amazing Race. The 23rd season (seriously) of the show premieres on September 29th.

While you'd think this would be a great opportunity for Fox Sports 1 to get some love on another network, filming took place in June, well before the launch of the network. CBS will probably just end up billing Salaam as "former NFL player" and/or "TV commentator" as opposed to "one of the stars of Fox Sports Live on the brand new Fox Sports 1!" That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Is there going to be even the slightest ratings bump for Fox Sports Live? After all, the last season of The Amazing Race in the spring consistently drew nine million viewers, and won its timeslot every week but one (when it was matched up with the Oscars). But let's be honest: how many people are going to be Googling Salaam after the show, and how many are going to be Googling Kim DeJesus, a Twitter superstar and the wife of David DeJesus of the Tampa Bay Rays?

If Salaam was working for CBS Sports Network though, you'd better believe that his appearances on The Amazing Race would be getting pumped to another level during the NFL season on CBS.
