Last NFL season, one of the silliest manufactured controversies in sports occurred when David Whitley of the Sporting News wrote a column criticizing San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick for his tattoos.  The notion that Kaepernick couldn't be trusted because he didn't look like Sammy Baugh proved to be even more absurd when CK7 led the 49ers to the Super Bowl.

While that fauxtroversy seems like ages ago, it's all the more ironic now considering less than a year later Kaepernick and his tattoos are prominently featured in an ad for Yahoo's fantasy football.  There is just one other thing that may be cause for some alarm when watching this spot though…

Good grief!  I've seen more personality and better delivery in a Bill Belichick press conference!  Did someone not tell him it might be a good idea to change his voice inflection at least once?  Kaepernick is a star in this league already (some of the top online betting action sites have him at 10/1 to be MVP this season) and I'm sure he's on his way to many more advertising opportunities, but he's got a loooong way to go until he's as good hawking products as he is running the read option.
