If you’re anything like me, you will be disappointed when this call doesn’t end in “BABABOOEY BABABOOEY!!” but apparently Linda here really thinks that James Shields is only getting bumped up to start Game 2 of the ALDS because he’s Jewish, and not because he’s been significantly better at home this year than he’s been on the road.

Rays manager Joe Maddon admitted that Shields’ home/road splits played a role in the decision to start him at home in Game 2.

“Without giving up all of our inner secrets, I’m sure you could look through all the statistical information and try to glean why we would do it,” Maddon told the St. Petersburg Times.
