It seems a close blown call in last night’s Braves/Giants game will refuel the ‘instant replay in baseball’ debate. To me, the use of replay is inevitable and Bud Selig is delaying it. The technology exists and replay is already being used effectively to review close home run calls. How many more outs, perfect games, playoff games have to be decided by blown calls before Bud Selig puts into play what’s at his grubby finger tips?

I have a NEW THEORY. Selig thinks the umps are doing great and sees replays as TBS studio host Matt Winer Dennis Eckersley does:

Even with replay, the human element rears its ugly head!

But, seriously, look at the picture below…

blowncall

… and ask Buster Posey what he thinks:

“I guess it’s a good thing we don’t have instant replay.”

Your response, Mr. Selig?

YOUR RESPONSE, MR. SELIG?

YOUR RESPONSE TO BUSTER POSEY AND IT BEING A GOOD THING THERE WASN’T REPLAY TO OVERTURN A BAD CALL THAT HELPED THE GIANTS WIN!?

[changes blazer, priggishly adjusts pants] “Oh, well, I couldn’t agree more with Buster Posey. … By the way, I like this Matt Winer Dennis Eckersley guy.”

H/T to the Ecks and Joe1234 in the comments for helping correct me.
