Let me preface this by saying I can’t/couldn’t stand Michael Irvin in College, In The Pros, or as an “analyst”. He was the one (Billy “White Shoes” Johnson is a joke) who turned the position of Wide Receiver into the most egotistical group of athletes in all of Sports.

Sure part of this loathing was because he was a Cane, a Cowboy, and really really good. But he was everything that Art Monk (2nd greatest receiver ever in my eyes) was not.

That disdain then carried over into his post-NFL life and ESPN. I really can’t stand his whole shtick, but this was one hell of an induction speech…

Does it bite off of Jimmy V a bit? Sure. But I genuinely believe that Irvin knows he made some mistakes in life, and you can tell he is grateful and honored to have made it to this point.
