Jimmy Fallon’s “Wheel of Musical Impressions” game on The Tonight Show is always good for a few laughs. But it can be even better when the guest goes off-script. On Tuesday night’s show, Jamie Foxx got a little bit hoarse toward the end of the game and took that opportunity to break out an impression of Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers.

The Doc impression begins at the 5:45 mark, if you’re pressed for time and don’t want to see Foxx also imitiate Mick Jagger and John Legend. Though the Jennifer Hudson impression is worth sticking around for.

“I don’t know. Next year. I don’t know. I can’t explain it. We tried, you know. It’s not Blake’s fault. It’s not on Blake.”

How close was Foxx to the real thing? Judge for yourself by Rivers’ post-game presser following the Clippers’ Game 6 loss to the Rockets.

OK, maybe Foxx exaggerated Doc’s hoarseness a bit, but pushing reality — such as Doc Rivers singing “Happy Birthday” to your kid — is usually where the greatness in impressions is found.
