We all look forward to One Shining Moment every year to celebrate the great moments of March Madness… but there’s another side to this great event.  A darker, more depressing, more sorrowful side as well.  67 teams and hundreds of players and thousands of fans saw their dreams of becoming a champion die this month.

How many more people saw their dreams of winning office pools and treating themselves to a nice steak dinner or even a weekend trip vanish before their eyes?  (Thanks, Kentucky.)

Come to think of it, for most of us, March Madness is a terrible, horrible month that is nothing but a factory of sadness.  And it’s only worse when Duke wins the title.  I feel your pain, sad piccolo player.
