Now that we’re finally beyond the NFL Draft, we can begin looking forward to training camp and actual exhibition games being played.  I know, I know, looking forward to preseason football is a little bit of a misnomer, but that’s how football-crazy we are.

HBO’s Hard Knocks is an annual highlight that chronicles this journey and we may be a step closer to knowing who will let HBO’s cameras into the fold this year.  Both John McClain and Tania Ganguli of the Houston Chronicle say the hometown Texans are the favorites and HBO’s top choice to appear:

There have been conflicting reports about the Redskins perhaps appearing, but the Texans do make a lot of sense.  Not only do they have a megastar in J.J. Watt, but there’s the storyline of Jadeveon Clowney trying to come back from an injury-filled rookie year.  And with a potential QB competition between Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer, there should be more than enough meat on the bone for HBO.
