SportsCenter used calls from Dick Vitale throughout the years to promote the UNC-Duke game tonight. And even though Dickie V is synonymous with the Tobacco Road rivalry, this year he won’t be announcing the game. That didn’t stop SportsCenter anchor Jay Crawford from waxing poetic about Vitale saying, “There’s just something about Dick when he’s calling the Duke-North Carolina game that makes you want to watch.”
Umm… awkward. I guess Jay didn’t get the memo.
