St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny came under a firestorm of criticism for his managing during the Cardinals’ 5-4, ten inning loss in Game 3 of the NLCS to the Giants. One of the critics appeared to be Cardinals reliever Seth Maness, who was retweeting negative thoughts of Matheny after the game.
Huh, well that’s something. Maness only threw six pitches in the ninth and set the Giants down in order, so it would make some sense that he was irritated about getting pulled (even if he was scheduled to lead off the tenth).
The mystery was soon unraveled, however – his girlfriend was doing the retweeting from his account.
Moral of the story – don’t let anyone have your social media passwords, because only bad things can happen.
