Colin Cowherd has spent the better part of five years – FIVE YEARS! – holding one 30 second dance over John Wall’s head like some kind of modern day scarlet letter.  Amazingly enough, he brought it up again today.  As Dan Steinberg said, “Colin Cowherd cares about John Wall once doing the Dougie for 30 seconds in 2010 more than anyone else in the world cares about anything.”  This guy just doesn’t quit.  And yes, you can make the argument that the Wall obsession and a host of other things actually make Cowherd worse than Skip Bayless.

Not to get SVP suspended (he’s one of the good ones in Bristol) if there’s a hint of a subtweet in this, but we couldn’t help but stand up and applaud this tweet.  Read between the lines as you will.

So yea, it’s kinda stupid that someone would take a 30 second pregame dance and try to define someone’s life and legacy for the rest of recorded history by it and treat it as some kind of seminal moment for mankind.  Other ESPNers like Bomani Jones have called Cowherd out on it too.  Cowherd has maintained that he’ll never back down from his Wall rant (that many accused of race-baiting) like he’s Patrick Henry or something.  The bloodthirsty vendetta against Wall over a pregame dance is maybe the most bizarre in recent sports media history.  Thankfully there’s some people who are sensible enough to not think that way.
