Since Tony Reali left PTI for a role with Good Morning America, the show has been experimenting with various people in the Stat Boy role. On Tuesday, the most appropriate fill-in for Stat Boy showed up – the ultra scrappy and gritty David Eckstein – the archenemy of analytics fans everywhere.

Reali was good in the role, but Eckstein will scrap and grit his way to bring PTI to another level. Or, he won’t do much of anything, but it’s nice to see that Eckstein can still get work these days.
