Larry Stogner, a long-time news anchor with ABC owned-and-operated WTVD in Durham, North Carolina had been the the subject of recent viewer speculation. His speech had slowed and some wondered if he had had a stroke or was suffering from another malady. He addressed it in a very emotional video message to viewers last Friday that caught many of his friends and co-workers by surprise.

As he mentioned, Stogner took part in last year’s ALS challenge. Little would he know how that would affect him. Stogner will return one more time to say goodbye to his audience before retiring for good.
