Trade deadline is always a frenetic, tiring time for those who cover baseball and the networks devoted to the sport. Ken Rosenthal probably hasn’t gotten much sleep during the past week (maybe past two or three weeks) trying to work his sources for hot scoops on potential moves being made.

MLB Network was also showing a little bit of fatigue on Friday as the clock approached the 4 p.m. ET deadline for deal-making. Rather than have Rosenthal in the studio or control room, he had to be at a desk, in an office where he could make calls, send texts and tweet out any and all breaking news concerning trades.

No problem; just plant a camera by Rosenthal’s desk and slap a logo on the wall behind him. But maybe give that logo sticker a bit more of a rub next time to make sure it sticks to the wall properly.

Ouch. That’s not a great look for MLB Network. Admittedly, we don’t know how long the peeling logo was on screen. Maybe there was a quick cutaway during which a producer or intern could run in there and rub that sticker back on the wall.

But it’s OK. We all understand. The final hours and minutes before the trade deadline are hectic and exhausting. The decision to slap a network logo on the wall may have been a last-second one, as well. Everyone involved will surely do a better job the next time around. Or maybe a viewer won’t be on the watch to capture a screengrab.
