He’s not an announcer who calls attention to himself. In fact, there’s been more talk about his partner Mark Jackson calling his old team, the Golden State Warriors, in these NBA Finals rather than play-by-play announcer Mike Breen. You may not be aware that this year marks the 10th NBA Final that Breen will have called for ESPN/ABC and that breaks the record on nine held jointly by Dick Stockton (CBS) and Marv Albert (NBC).

And Breen who also calls the New York Knicks for MSG Network in addition to the NBA on ESPN/ABC takes his assignments in stride telling the Associated Press that he loves that he’s doing:

“I just try and work hard and make sure I’m really prepared every time I go on the air and really sounds like there’s no place I’d rather be than calling that particular game..”

Congrats to Breen for reaching this milestone.
