It’s not too often that fans are made aware of broadcasters and their fan allegiances. One of those rare exceptions is Al Michaels and the Los Angeles Kings. Although his most famous call (and the most famous call in sports history) comes from the hockey world, Michaels does not call NHL games for NBC as that’s Doc Emrick’s turf. So, he’s free to to cheer on his beloved Kings as a fan.
And since Michaels is not your average Kings fan, he got to meet Lord Stanley himself.

While that photo of Michaels and the Stanley Cup is really something, it’s a double win because you know he also made a decent chunk of change laying down some action on the Kings during last season’s playoffs, too.
