Jay Glazer dropped a pipebomb on ESPN Tuesday when he called the network’s news department “lying bastards” for how they handled the news that Johnny Manziel will be starting this week. Glazer revealed some very interesting behind-the-scenes tidbits as well on the conversation between Fox and ESPN over the dispute.
On SportsCenter later that evening, Kenny Mayne introduced an Ed Werder report on Johnny Manziel as only he can. Mayne used his incredibly dry and unique sense of humor to subtlety mock Jay Glazer’s Twitter rant at Bristol accusing the network of taking credit for his scoop. He even added in some Twitter speak and since it’s Kenny Mayne, I’m not sure whether him saying “hashmark” instead of “hashtag” is intentional or not.
Nevertheless a SportsCenter anchor basically telling Jay Glazer “#whocares about your Twitter whining” will ratchet up this feud a couple notches.
