We are very, very relieved that hockey is back, as most NHL teams start training camp by Friday, and the preseason begins on Sunday. We had three long, arduous months without one of the most exciting sports on earth and that meant going down a YouTube rabbit hole of past games from different hockey leagues all across the globes. Most of the time, they’re boring, but sometimes you get this UK hockey brawl between Peterborough and Basingstoke.
What’s really funny is that, while yes, the British announcer calling your typical hockey brawl is very funny… he kind of plays it Vin Scully cool for the most part, letting the images do the talking. NBCSN ought to consider bringing him over. If it doesn’t work out, you’ve got an Arlo White successor in training.
