Skip Bayless caused plenty of controversy when he recklessly called Johnny Manziel a liar and an alcoholic on First Take.  Of course, ESPN did nothing to discipline their golden child for publicly spouting such wild and dangerous allegations because Skip Bayless is secretly the most powerful man at ESPN.

Well, thankfully someone at ESPN is aware of the double standards with the rules that apply to Bayless and the rules that apply to everyone else.  That someone is, of course, Bill Simmons.

No stranger to challenging the establishment (i.e. First Take), Simmons delivered this jab in his most recent column:

Seeing Simmons take these shots at Bayless and First Take in print is just going to provide more ammunition to those who think he’s leaving ESPN.  He’s made fun of said suspension on his podcast, fought with Mike & Mike, and now this.  It doesn’t sound like someone who’s fond of sticking around or very happy with his bosses.  Ever since his three week suspension, it seems like Simmons has been on his own personal Brady-Belichick “Eff-You” mode at ESPN.
