The morning after Super Bowl XLIX, everyone has been lambasting Pete Carroll, Darrell Bevell, and the Seahawks coaches for calling a pass play just 1 yard away from winning the game.  Instead of handing the ball to Marshawn Lynch, Russell Wilson intended a pass for Ricardo Lockette and had it intercepted by Malcolm Butler.

Here’s the audio from the Patriots radio booth and 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston and announcers Bob Socci and Scott Zolak.  The best part of the call is a hoarse and delirious Zolak immediately calling it one of the worst play calls in NFL history.

That call is awesome, and reminds me of another great call and an announcer who couldn’t believe what was unfolding before him.  Except this time we heard it from the winning perspective instead of the losing one.
