Oh, Shane Battier. We’ve examined previously how the former Duke star and first year analyst is a tad awkward in the broadcast booth. His prognostication skills aren’t that much better. Earlier this week, Battier went on CBS Sports’ Boomer & Carton and picked West Virginia to beat Kentucky. While that might have sounded a little crazy when Battier first did it, it’s now drawing extra attention considering Kentucky didn’t just beat West Virginia, they did this to them.
Kentucky doubled up West Virginia 78-39… in a Sweet 16 NCAA Tournament game. And the incredible thing is that it really wasn’t even that close. While BBN may have had some extra motivation that didn’t come from Battier, consider this a healthy piece of advice for analysts everywhere.
