  • English Premier League Championship Sunday soccer matches on the family of NBC networks — ten matches, one on each network — from May 21 combined for 1.795 million viewers, off 4 percent from EPL Championship Sunday 2016 (1.865 million viewers from May 15, 2016).

  • On May 20, NBCSN’s Preakness Stakes Prep drew 391,000 viewers — 16 percent below the year-ago prep (May 21, 2016: 467,000 viewers) and 6 percent below the 2015 prep (May 16, 2015: 411,000 viewers). One day earlier, the Preakness Black Eyed Susan (also on NBCSN, 120,000 viewers from May 19) was down 30 percent from last year (May 20, 2016: 172,000 viewers) but up 20 percent from two years ago (May 15, 2015: 100,000 viewers).

  • Afternoon coverage of cycling’s Tour of California on NBCSN averaged 100,000 viewers from May 15-19, down 10 percent from the comparable Monday-Friday portion of one year ago (May 16-20, 2016: 110,000 viewers). As a positive, there was a significant 39 percent uplift among adults 18-49 (40,000 vs. 29,000).

  • Kansas City Royals’ 5-1 victory over the New York Yankees in a special MLB Thursday night showcase from May 18 drew 910,000 viewers for FS1. It was the most-watched regular-season baseball game in the network’s history. The game featured Kevin Burkhardt doing play-by-play and the debut of Alex Rodriguez as in-game analyst.   • All three auto races on FS1 from May 19-21 saw year-to-year declines:

    • NASCAR Monster Energy Cup All-Star Race (FS1 May 20): 2.87 million viewers (-13 percent from 3.29 million on May 21, 2016)
    • NASCAR Camping Truck World Series: North Carolina Education Lottery 200 (Concord) (FS1 May 19): 669,000 viewers (-31 percent from 966,000 on May 21, 2016)
    • NHRA Heartland Nationals (Topeka) (FS1 May 21): 533,000 viewers (-3 percent from 551,000 on May 22, 2016)
