  • It was a positive ratings performance for the heavyweight championship boxing bout of Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko from London’s famed Wembley Stadium on Apr. 29. The live Showtime telecast of the bout at 5 p.m. ET drew 659,000 viewers, peaking at 763,000 during the seventh round. This easily marks as the most-watched Joshua bout on the Showtime network to-date; each of his three previous bouts had not attracted more than 390,000 viewers. Also, it’s the second most-watched Showtime fight in 2017 to-date — only Broner-Granados (779,000) from February drew more — and scored an all-time Showtime record for a live afternoon boxing telecast (Source: Brian Campbell).

    The fight’s replay on Klitschko’s associated network HBO at 11 p.m. drew 738,000 viewers, peaking at 890,000 viewers — the year’s best peak (so far) for an HBO fight whether it aired live or on replay (Source: BoxingScene.com).

    Overseas, Joshua-Klitschko registered 10.43 million viewers on Germany’s RTL network — Klitschko’s most-watched fight on German television since his victory over Mariusz Wach in 2012 (11+ million) (Source: RTL).

  • The three days of the 2017 NFL Draft from Apr. 27-29 on solely NFL Network averaged a 0.94 household rating and 1.5 million viewers — up +15 percent and +18 percent respectively, making 2017 the network’s highest rated and most-watched NFL Draft. Day 1 of NFL Draft on NFL Network on Apr. 27 averaged 1.52 household rating and an NFL Network-record for an NFL Draft Day 1 of 2.53 million viewers, up +22 percent and +24 percent respectively. 2017’s 2.53 million viewers is the most-watched Day 1 of Draft on NFL Network to-date.

    For Day 2 on Apr. 28, NFL Network averaged a 0.99 household rating and 1.57 million viewers (7:00p-11:43p), up +13 percent and +15 percent respectively from Day 2 of the 2016 NFL Draft. And for Day 3 on Apr. 29, NFL Network averaged a 0.59 household rating and 902,000 viewers (12:00p-6:46p), up +5 percent and +11 percent respectively from Day 3 of the 2016 NFL Draft.

    For Days 2 and 3, 2017 reached NFL Network record-highs among household ratings and viewership of each respective draft day.

  • Due to the NFL Draft on ESPN2, Washington-Atlanta Game 6 in the 2017 NBA Playoffs on Apr. 28 aired on both ESPNU (355,000 viewers) and NBA-TV (287,000 viewers), combining to draw 643,000 viewers.

  • NBA-TV’s live post-game coverage after each 2017 NBA Playoff game from Apr. 24-30 — led by the post-game of Utah-L.A. Clippers Game 7 on Apr. 30 (139,000 viewers) — averaged 55,000 viewers, down 4 percent from the yeae-ago week (57,000 viewers for Apr. 24-May 1, 2016).

  • Golf Channel’s tournaments coverage from Apr. 25-30:

    • PGA Tour: Zurich Classic (Apr. 27-30 afternoons; Golf Channel only): 391,000 viewers (+30 percent from Apr. 28-May 1, 2016: 301,000 viewers)
    • LPGA Tour: VOA Texas Shootout (Apr. 27-30 afternoons): 175,000 viewers (-20 percent from Apr. 28-May 1, 2016: 218,000 viewers)
    • European Tour: Volvo China Open (Apr. 26-30 late night and mornings): 38,000 viewers (-28 percent from Apr. 28-May 1, 2016: 52,000 viewers)
    • Ladies European Tour: Mediterranean Open (Apr. 25-26): 44,000 viewers
