  • Each of NBCSN’s three English Premier League soccer matches from Apr. 22-23 showed declines of more than 20 percent from last year:

    • Everton-West Ham (Apr. 22 late morning): 342,000 viewers (-21 percent from 428,000 of Aston Villa-Manchester United Apr. 16, 2016)
    • Manchester United-Burnley (Apr. 23 early morning): 334,000 viewers (-24 percent from 439,000 of West Ham-Leicester Apr. 17, 2016)
    • Crystal Palace-Liverpool (Apr. 23 late morning): 395,000 viewers (-23 percent from 514,000 of Crystal Palace-Arsenal Apr. 17, 2016)
  • The Apr. 23 IndyCar Series: Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama race from Barber Motorsports Park on NBCSN drew 470,000 viewers, an impressive increase of 68 percent from the same race last year (Apr. 24, 2016: 279,000 viewers). The final household rating was 0.39, up from a 0.26 rating in 2016. The top five rated local markets for the race were Indianapolis, Birmingham, West Palm Beach, Richmond (Virginia) and Phoenix.   • The 2017 Boston Marathon on NBCSN from Apr. 17 averaged 126,000 viewers, up 7 percent from a year ago (Apr. 18, 2016: 118,000 viewers). Six days later, the 2017 Londom Marathon on NBCSN beginning in the late night of Apr. 22/early morning of Apr. 23 averaged 31,000 viewers, down 7 percent from lsst year (Apr. 23-24, 2016: 33,000 viewers).

  • For the entire week of Apr. 20-26, FS1 averaged 165,000 viewers — a 5 percent increase from the year prior (157,000). Three of the week’s events assisted with FS1’s lift:

    • UEFA Champions League Quarterfinal: Real Madrid-Bayern Munchen (Apr. 18): 450,000 viewers (+78 percent from 253,000 of Manchester City-Paris St. Germain Apr. 12, 2016); an additional 434,000 viewers tuned into its Spanish-language broadcast on Fox Deportes,
    • UEFA Champions League Quarterfinal: Barcelona-Juventus Football Club (Apr. 19): 406,000 viewers (+23 percent from 329,000 of first leg of Club Atletico de Madrid-Barcelona Apr. 13, 2016)
    • MLB: St. Louis Cardinals’ 4-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers (Apr. 22): 587,000 viewers (+28 percent from 459,000 of Boston-Houston Apr. 23, 2016)
  • Due to a MLB St. Louis-Milwaukee game on FS1 running past 10 p.m. in the Eastern time zone, the first 33 minutes of the Apr. 22 UFC Fight Night, which featured the Mike Perry-Jake Ellenberger bout, aired on FS2. It attracted 430,000 viewers, ranking as the second most-watched FS2 telecast to-date, only behind the UFC 200 prelims from July 9, 2016 (582,000 viewers) that also were meant to air on FS1 and were shifted to FS2. UFC Fight Night continued on FS1, starting at 10:33 p.m. EDT, at a below-average 745,000 viewers (UFC Fight Nights on FS1 typically draw approximately 900,000 viewers).
