Former Florida and South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier will be offering his opinions on college football starting this week on SiriusXM. Spurrier who was once rumored to be joining SEC Network, but didn’t, will be on SiriusXM’s College Sports Nation channel throughout the season.

He’ll be on three days a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on three different shows. On Tuesdays, he’ll be on at 11 a.m. to noon ET with Chris Childers and SEC on CBS analyst Rick Neuheisel. Then on Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. ET, the ol’ Ball Coach will accompany Mark Packer’s show. And on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET, Spurrier will co-host with Greg McElroy and Taylor Zarzour.

Spurrier has always done things his own way whether it’s been as a coach or in retirement. He’s been doing ads for Dr. Pepper and Nissan’s Heisman House as well as playing his beloved golf on his own schedule.

But he’s looking forward to staying busy in talking about college football:

“I’m thrilled to join guys like Mark Packer, Rick Neuheisel, and Greg McElroy on SiriusXM,” said Spurrier. “I look forward to talking to the fans and sharing my thoughts on college football and the 2017 season. I sure have some things to say…”

It’s still not known if Spurrier will eventually do TV work this season or just stay on radio, but he’s always been colorful especially when he did his regular press conferences or TV interviews. There’s never a dull moment with Spurrier and his appearances could be must listen to radio. At least SiriusXM hopes he will for three days a week.
