There’s a loud noise at the Alamodome that is confusing and annoying people that are watching and listening to Saturday’s Final Four games.
When the shot-clock gets down to zero, the very loud buzzer sounds just like a car horn. Example:
It also happens after players shoot free throws:
This has understandably confused the heck out of a lot of viewers and listeners, and is especially confusing to people on the road that think a car may be honking. Here’s what many annoyed people have had to say about the Final Four buzzer on Twitter:
Yo, @NCAA: I am guessing for people there in person the #FinalFour2018 car horn thing is not that bad. But it is driving those of us in homes, and even more so in cars, quite insane. Please fix this by Monday.

Every time that horn blows, I look out my window because it sounds like a car is honking.

Can we get rid of this car horn that doubles as a shot-clock buzzer? Whose idea was this?

This car horn buzzer at the Final Four had me thinking someone was honking right outside my house

Why did they swap out the normal basketball buzzer for the horn from a 98 Taurus for the Final Four?

Am I the only moron that thought the #FinalFour buzzer was some idiot in my neighborhood honking their car horn?!

We’ll see if there’s a buzzer change made for Monday night’s national championship game.
