Victor Oladipo did pushups before a post-game interview Wednesday.

Victor Oladipo appears to take missing free throws very seriously. The Indiana Pacers’ guard had a game-high 27 points in their 98-96 win over the Chicago Bulls Wednesday night, including a three-pointer with 31 seconds left that helped to seal the deal. But he missed one of his two free throws with 12 seconds left, and that meant that he did 10 pushups before his post-game interview with Fox Sports Indiana:

The matter-of-fact “I missed a free throw. 10 pushups.” is great. Oladipo acts like this is a totally normal way to start a post-game interview. It is not, but it made for an entertaining one. And hey, when you hit shots like this, few will quibble with whatever you want to do:

Oladipo was also part of the Pacers outscoring the Bulls 29-13 in the fourth quarter. He said afterwards they want to avoid trailing by that much, though:

“I was going out there and playing as hard as I could on both ends of the floor and trying to help us pull it out,” Oladipo said. “We’ve got to learn to not put ourselves in that hole in the first place and try to make sure we avoid that. At the end of the day it was a big win for us and we can build on it.”

Indeed they can, and so can Oladipo. After all, a 27-point, eight-rebound, two-assist night, part of your 23-point, four-assist, five-rebounds per game season long averages, can’t be all that great if you missed a free throw.
