It’s been another busy week in sports media. We’re here to recap the biggest news and events that took place and share some of our best work from the week that was. Without further adieu: 

Wake Forest says their radio announcer Tommy Elrod gave game prep info to opponents – Dec. 13

In perhaps the strangest story of the week, it was revealed former Wake Forest assistant coach and announcer Tommy Elrod provided opposing teams with the Demon Deacons game plan. Among them, Louisville, who admitted to receiving but not using it. Although, Bobby Petrino flat out denied ever getting it.

Anatomy of a dumb rumor: How Colin Cowherd started Harbaugh-to-Rams-talk – Dec. 13

Colin Cowherd started a rumor Jim Harbaugh was going to the Los Angeles Rams, based off what he thought Albert Breer said off mic. The rumor was flatly denied by all parties.

12 of Verne Lundquist’s best calls – Dec. 14

Verne Lundquist has retired earlier this month, but he left behind a plethora of incredible sports calls. Including Tiger Woods at the 2005 Masters, Christian Laettner’s amazing shot in 1992, and the improbable Kick Six in 2013.

On Thursday, Famed Turner Sports broadcaster Craig Sager passed away at the age of 65. There’s no question he will be missed by everybody.
Joe Buck revealed in an interview with 590 The Fan’s Tim McKiernan that once his contract with Fox expires, he’ll be done calling baseball to spend more time with his family.
