It’s been another busy week in sports media. We’re here to recap the biggest news and events that took place and share some of our best work from the week that was. Without further adieu:

New Mike Golic-Trey Wingo ESPN Radio show to debut in November – July 17

Golic & Wingo will debut November 27, 10 days after Mike & Mike ends its 18-year run. The show will air from 6-10 a.m. every weekday.

Fewer breaks, split screen ads will highlight NFL commercial changes in 2017 – July 18

In NFL commercial news, the 2017 season will feature fewer ad breaks (cut to four per quarter from five) and split screen advertisements.

Buffalo sports anchor Jonah Javad makes blooper reel to trash departing Bills’ corner – July 18

Stephen Gilmore correctly stated he’ll be appearing in more nationally televised games this season with the Patriots opposed to when he was with the Bills. For some reason, a local Buffalo anchor decided that warranted a lowlight reel.

Some guy is mailing ESPN anchors stern letters about their appearance and etiquette – July 19

Some random dude is spending his time writing and mailing letters to ESPN anchors, critiquing them on their etiquette and how they dress.

VICE Sports lays off staff as it pivots to video – July 21

Sad news as Vice Sports has become the latest outlet to pivot to video. Vice has laid off 2% of their employees, eliminating the Vice Sports brand in the process.
