It’s been another busy week in sports media. We’re here to recap the biggest news and events that took place and share some of our best work from the week that was. Without further adieu:

Mike Tirico to call Notre Dame football games for NBC – August 14

Later this fall, NBC’s Mike Tirico will call Notre Dame football games on NBC. He’ll pull double-duty each week, as he’s still calling Thursday Night Football. Tirico is replacing Dan Hicks.

Fox announces NFL broadcast lineup for 2017 season (now minus Jay Cutler) – August 15

Fox announced its upcoming broadcast lineup for 2017 now that Jay Cutler’s out of the fold. Team 2 will now be Kevin Burkhardt, Charles Davis, and Pam Oliver.

CBS reveals 2017 NFL broadcast teams, with Beth Mowins a surprise addition – August 15

CBS also unveiled their broadcast lineup. It featured a surprise addition in Beth Mowins who will call play-by-play alongside Jay Feely. She will become the first woman since Gayle Sierens (1987) to call an NFL game on television.

ESPN apologizes for “auction” fantasy football sketch, Odell Beckham Jr. calls them out – August 15. 

ESPN apologized after airing a sketch which featured a group of mostly white men bidding on black athletes. Bad intentions or not, the optics were not good.

After blowback, CBS Radio Las Vegas stations will mention the new Golden Knights [updated] – August 16

After failing to land broadcast rights, CBS Radio ordered six Las Vegas stations to refrain from talking about the Vegas Golden Knights. After immediate backlash, CBS reversed its position and issued an apology.

Today alum Jenna Wolfe joins FS1 to host First Things First with Nick Wright, Cris Carter – August 17

Jenna Wolfe, who appeared on Today in various roles from 2007-2016, will host FS1’s First Things First with Nick Wright and Cris Carter.
