  • The F1 Spanish Grand Prix on NBCSN the morning of May 14 drew 557,000 viewers — 14 percent above of the year-ago race (May 15, 2016: 487,000 viewers) and 3 percent above from the Spanish Grand Prix two years ago (May 10, 2015: 543,000 viewers).

  • NBCSN’s four telecasts of United States games in the 2017 IIHF World Championship during the week – May 8 vs. Sweden, May 10 vs. Italy, May 13 vs. Latvia, and May 14 vs. Slovakia – averaged 91,000 viewers, more than doubling the four games the U.S. had played in the IIHF in the year-ago week (44,000 viewers), although it should be noted three of the four games in 2017 aired at night (May 10 the exception) while all four of the games from 2016 either aired in daytime.

  • The tape-delayed telecast of track and field’s IAAF Diamond League: Shanghai Golden Grand Prix on NBCSN May 13 drew 197,000 viewers — a clearly vast improvement from the mere 10,000 who tuned in to the same event on May 14, 2016 when it had aired on the lesser-available outlet beIN Sports.

  • Second legs of the Semifinal rounds in the UEFA Champions and Europa Leagues on FS1 from May 9-11:

    • Champions League: Juventus Football Club-Monaco (FS1 May 9 afternoon): 313,000 viewers (-27 percent from 430,000 of Bayern Munchen-Club Atletico de Madrid May 3, 2016)
    • Champions League: Club Atletico de Madrid-Real Madrid (FS1 May 10 afternoon): 375,000 viewers (-21 percent from 472,000 of Real Madrid-Man City May 4, 2016)
    • Europa League: Manchester United-Celta de Vigo (FS1 May 11 afternoon): 199,000 viewers (-22 percent from 254,000 of Liverpool-Villareal May 5, 2016)
  • NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series: GoBowling 400 from Kansas on FS1 from May 13 (2.62 million viewers) was down 17 percent from last year’s race (May 7, 2016: 3,142,000 viewers). On the previous night, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series: Toyota Tundra 250 also from Kansas on FS1 from May 12 (694,000 viewers) was 10 percent below from last year’s race (May 6, 2016: 774,000 viewers).

  • Due to NASCAR on FS1, the UFC 211 preliminary card aired on FX on May 13, which showed to be a positive for the sport as it earned the top UFC prelims telecast audience of the year to-date with 1.15 million viewers. The night featured the bouts of Chase Sherman-Rashad Coulter, James Vick-Marco Polo Reyes, Jason Knight-Chas Skelly, and Dustin Poirier-Eddie Alvarez.
