  • The 6-hour, 18-minute ESPN telecast of the 18-inning New York Yankees-Chicago Cubs classic on the May 7 edition of Sunday Night Baseball was up 29 percent in viewers (2.43 million vs. 1.88 million) and +34 percent among adults 18-49 (877,000 vs. 654,000) from the year-ago SNB matchup of Red Sox-Yankees (May 8, 2016). Thru May 7, ESPN’s MLB games have averaged 1.4 million viewers (+21 percent from first month of 2016 season) while their marquee Sunday Night Baseball program has averaged 2.3 million viewers (+15 percent).

  • The original telecast of the final edition of The Sports Reporters on ESPN on May 7 drew 558,000 viewers and 321,000 adults 18-49 on ESPN; -7 percent and -2 percent, respectively, from the year-ago ESPN telecast (599,000 viewers/329,000 adults 18-49 from May 8, 2016).

  • The third week of professional bowling’s 2017 L.L. Bean PBA League Elias Cup (semifinals) on ESPN (May 7; 551,000 viewers) was down 3 percent from the year-ago PBA League Semifinals (May 1, 2016; 567,000 viewers) and up 34 percent from two years ago (Apr. 12, 2015; 411,000 viewers).

  • A college softball doubleheader on ESPN on May 6, featuring Oklahoma-Oklahoma State followed by Auburn-Alabama, averaged 263,000 viewers, down 44 percent from the year-ago college softball Saturday doubleheader of Georgia-Alabama and Texas A&M-Auburn (May 7, 2016: 472,000).

  • ESPNU’s Ivy League college lacrosse matchup between Brown and Yale on May 7 at noon delivered 47,000 viewers, down 22 percent from the year-ago Harvard-Yale lacrosse game (May 7, 2016: 60,000).
