  • Highlighted by Golden State-Portland Game 3, the ESPN/ESPN2 telecasts of the 2017 NBA Playoffs on Apr. 21-22 averaged 2.83 million viewers and 1.47 million adults 18-49, +24 percent in viewers and +28 percent among adults 18-49 from one year ago (Apr. 22-24, 2016: 2.27 million, 1.16 million adults 18-49). ESPN’s year-ago weekend (in 2016) did not feature an entire Golden State Warriors playoff game.

  • Game 1 of the 2017 NBA D-League Finals on ESPNU between Raptors 905 and Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Apr. 23) drew 19,000 viewers, up 19 percent from 2016 Game 1: Sioux Falls-L.A. D-Fenders (Apr. 24, 2016: 16,000).

  • It was a very good Sunday, Apr. 23 for ESPN. A late-afternoon MLS Regular Season match between the L.A. Galaxy and the Seattle Sounders (225,000 viewers/134,000 adults 18-49) was +25 percent (in viewers)/+37 percent (adults 18-49) from the year-ago MLS match (San Jose-Kansas City, Apr. 24 2016: 180,000 viewers/98,000 adults 18-49). Then, in prime time, the Washington Nationals completed their 3-game sweep of the New York Mets on Sunday Night Baseball (1.37 million viewers) grew 10 percent from the year-ago SNB game Boston-Houston (1.25 million on Apr. 24, 2016).

  • The first week of professional bowling’s 2017 L.L. Bean PBA League Elias Cup (quarterfinals) on ESPN (Apr. 23; 486,000 viewers) was down 1 percent from the year-ago PBA League Quarterfinals (Apr. 17, 2016; 490,000 viewers) and up 11 percent from two years ago (Mar. 29, 2015; 438,000 viewers).

  • With just two additional Sunday editions remaining, the Apr. 23 edition of The Sports Reporters drew 666,000 viewers and 381,000 adults 18-49 on ESPN; -4 percent and +2 percent, respectively, from the year-ago ESPN telecast (697,000 viewers/375,000 adults 18-49 from Apr. 24, 2016).
