But even with having 100 channels, there are some missing like CBS if you live in a market like Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York or San Francisco that has an owned-and-operated affiliate and NFL Network. CBS says it’s negotiating with DirecTV for carriage, however, an agreement has yet to be reached.
There are other plans, but the 100 channel package otherwise known as “Go Big” was the most heavily promoted. The others, “Live a Little” with 60 channels at $35/month, “Just Right” having 80 channels costing $50/month, and “Go Big” containing 120 channels for $70/month are still available.
The service has had some growing pains with blackouts and technical difficulties. However, DirecTV is hoping that consumers will stil flock to the streaming service as a way to get pay TV without the set-top box and multiple DVR’s.
But if DirecTV Now can get the kinks worked out and be consistent in getting streams at close to 100%, then will a force to be reckoned with. Right now, there are still problems to be fixed.
So if you want to sign up for the $35/month price for 100 channels, do it now before the price goes up on January 10.
