Last night the MLB Postseason kicked off in style with a thrilling AL Wild Card game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays. The contest went to extra innings where Edwin Encarnacion hit a game winning walk-off home run in the bottom of the eleventh. (Thanks in part to a little bit of bullpen mismanagement from Buck Showalter.)

Here’s how it sounded on the Blue Jays radio call from Jerry Howarth.

A bit more understated than one might have thought given the rarity of a walk-off home run allowing a team to advance to the next round of the playoffs. However, it is notable that Howarth was already looking forward to the matchup with the Texas Rangers just a few seconds after Encarnacion clinched an appearance in the Divisional round. All of baseball is looking forward to the Toronto-Texas matchup and the continuation of that rivalry just in case something like this or this happens again.
