SI.com’s syndication (available here) will feature the Twitter stream embedded on a page, with a sidebar of tweets about the game.
According to Sports Illustrated, the stream will also be available Thursday on Time.com and down the road might appear on other Time Inc. properties such as TheMMQB.com and FanSided.
Viewers will have quite a few options when it comes to streaming these games. They can watch on their televisions on either CBS or NFL Network or online on Twitter, SI.com or another Time Inc. property. With digital companies increasingly in the market for live-streaming, we could see more and more situations like this in coming years, in which games are available either on TV or online.
This partnership with Twitter fits in with Sports Illustrated’s increased emphasis on multimedia content. Last month, the company announced a content-sharing partnership with Fox Sports, and last week The MMQB, SI’s NFL vertical, announced three new podcasts. Meanwhile. parent company Time Inc. last week launched the People/Entertainment Weekly Network.
