Dish Network’s online skinny TV bundle, Sling TV, has added ESPN3 to its channel lineup. Sling TV which was announced at last year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, used this year’s CES session to unveil some new features.

Not only will ESPN3 join ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU on Sling TV, it also overhauls its sloppy interface which slowed down the service for many subscribers. Now that the user interface has improved, Dish has elected to improve other facets including a menu to see what live programming is on, plus a menu to choose what channels you want to watch, so if you only want to see the channels you really watch, you can lock out the ones you don’t.

In addition, ESPN3 will be part of the “Best of Live TV” package so not only can you watch the linear ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU, you can watch the live events that are exclusive to ESPN3 such as CFL games, tennis, college games that aren’t shown on TV, soccer and other sports.

And Sling TV is already available through Amazon Fire TV, Android, Chromecast, iOS, Roku, Xbox as well desktop and laptop computers. There’s no word if Sling TV will be on Apple TV, but that appears to be a matter of time.

For those who are looking to cut the cord and pay $20 for a package of channels, Sling TV could be the alternative that consumers are looking for. And with the ESPN family of networks on the service, that could be the impetus that could lead some cable and satellite subscribers to finally part with their set top boxes and go to Sling TV.
