NEW YORK, NY – AUGUST 29: Madison Keys plays a forehand against Alison Riske on Day One of the 2016 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on August 29, 2016 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)

Height in tennis is generally an advantage. It allows for more difficult and varied serving angles, though at a certain point it can limit mobility. There are currently some very tall players. John Isner is listed at 6’10”. Ivo Karlovic is even taller, listed at 6’11”. And the tallest female player on tour is apparently Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan, listed at 6’3″.

You’re forgiven if you weren’t aware of that offhand.

Last night at the US Open, ESPN gave Madison Keys a bit of a boost:

That’d be something of a record. Keys is 5’10”, so they were just a bit off.

Keys herself had the best reaction:

The 5’10” Keys came from behind to win in three sets.
