After Game 4 of the Warriors-Rockets Western Conference Quarterfinals series, a reporter asked Warriors forward Draymond Green about the flooding in Houston. Green shot down the reporter’s question, and the reporter was thoroughly shamed on social media after the incident. It’s now been revealed that the reporter in question was fired shortly after the press conference.
The reporter who continued to ask Draymond Green questions about the Houston floods was fired about 1 hour after the Game 4 press conference

He's a 1st year reporter, born and raised in China. He was working for a Chinese publication, but based in Houston. Fired after Game 4.

The consequences for the reporter were quite severe, and I feel bad for him given his lack of experience. He made a pretty obvious mistake by asking a completely ridiculous question, but ridiculous questions are asked in just about every press conference.
In an ideal world, the reporter will use this as a learning experience and keep trying to improve instead of moving on to another career. This shouldn’t be something that he can never recover from.
