The St. Louis Blues were hoping to celebrate a series-clinching win Saturday night as the team was in Chicago for Game 6 of their Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Blackhawks up 3-2. And things were looking good in the first period as the Blues jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but things went quickly downhill as Chicago scored five goals in the last two periods forcing a Game 7.

Adding insult to injury was the NBC affiliate, KSDK losing power late in the third period with the game at 5-3 in favor of the Blackhawks:

Well, at that point, the outcome was no longer in doubt and all fans missed was an empty net goal was Marian Hossa to seal the Blues’ fate, but perhaps it was better for fans at that juncture. They were spared from watching the end, but St. Louis viewers still weren’t happy.

Monday’s Game 7 will be on NBCSN so there should not be a power outage in St. Louis, unless the cable providers there somehow lose electricity.
