NBCSN’s Kathryn Tappen is a studio host who does her job very well. Very rarely will she step out of her zone to lay a verbal smackdown on her analysts. But tonight just before the Florida Panthers-New York Islanders NHL Playoff game on NBCSN as she was hosting with analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones, she ended up surprising viewers after one particular segment.

As Tappen asked Milbury why Florida’s Roberto Luongo was doing better in the series as compared to Game 1, Milbury laid the hard-hitting analysis that it was due to him stopping more pucks in Game 2.

It led Tappen to the wonderful reaction in the following clip:

“They actually pay you money to make a comment like that too, huh?” And Twitter reacted giving Tappen the equivalent of sainthood:

Of course, Tappen’s remark could have been due to working so many games during the 1st round for NBC/NBCSN:

No matter, it was one smackdown that was appreciated by hockey fans across the country.
