The Dodgers and Padres played a crazy weekend series where Melvin Upton hit a walk-off home run to win Friday night. And the Padres won 3-2 in the 11th inning on Saturday night on a walk-off bases-loaded walk. But before that happened, it looked like the game would end earlier when Upton again was at the plate.

He hit a fly ball deep to left field and it looked from the camera work that the ball would go out for a walk-off game-ending home run, but it was caught by Trayce Thompson at the wall instead. It fooled the men calling the game for both the Dodgers and the Padres.

Then Don Orsillo on Fox Sports San Diego:

And Rick Monday calling it on KLAC and the Dodgers radio network:

But on the Mighty 1090, XEPRS, the Padres radio call was a bit more cautious:

And then there was Sunday’s crazy 17-inning game where the Dodgers won 9-5, but Padres fans would rather discuss the walk-off wins on Friday and Saturday.
