Former New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Mora was a pretty successful NFL coach. He led the Saints to their first ever playoff appearance in 1987 and led the team’s vaunted “Dome Patrol” that competed with the 49ers in the NFC West.

But more than being a head coach for over a decade in the NFL and having an overall regular season record of 125-106, Mora is known for his colorful press conference rants. In New Orleans, he brought “diddly poo” into the coaching lexicon. In Indianapolis, he took “PLAYOFFS?!” to cultural meme status before we knew what a meme even was.
These days, Mora contributes to local Saints coverage for WDSU in New Orleans. And after the Saints fell to 0-3 after Monday night’s loss to the Falcons, Mora was asked by reporter/host Fletcher Mackel if the season was over for Who Dat Nation given no team in the last 14 years had made the playoffs after that poor of a start.
Mora delivered another fiery response that will go down in his personal highlight reel, emphatically stating that the season wasn’t over because there were still 13 games left to go:

That was amazing, if slightly unexpected. Saints fans might be quoting another one of Mora’s favorite rants by saying “I just hope we win a game.”
At this point, given the current state of the Saints defense, and the passion and energy Jim Mora still has, maybe it’s time Sean Payton brought him in as defensive coordinator.
